Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi is a leading self-financing Engineering College started on 17th October 1984 in the presence of Ms. & Mr. Gunter Von schlenk, Ms. & Mr. Erwin Flohrer from M/s. Cari Schlenk A G, Germany and Dr. S. Krishnaswamy, the then Vice Chancellor, Madurai Kamaraj University.

The College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai with Permanent Affiliation for 14 out of 17 programmes. All the eligible 7 UG Programs and 5 PG Programs are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi under Tier-I Category. Also our college is reaccredited with A Grade with a CGPA of 3.22 on a 4 point scale for a period of 5 years from February, 2021 by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore in II cycle of accreditation.

Our college has been granted Autonomous Status by UCG, New Delhi and Anna University, Chennai from the academic year 2013-14. The institution is fast catered to bridge the gap of demand and supplies of quality Engineers and Managers and completes 38th year of Service par Excellence. The students are offered Value Added Courses, Special Courses, Audit Courses, NPTEL courses, Spoken Tutorials etc. beyond the curriculum.

The college is known for highly experienced faculty with average experience of 13 years; of them 143 (54.58%) are Ph.D. holders and 115 (43.07%) faculty are pursuing Ph.D. During nearly 4 decades of its existence, the college has many credentials: 10000+ students placed through campus placement; 136 R&D projects worth more than Rs.16 crores from various Government Funding Agencies and R&D Organizations; Anna University approved Research Centres-10 Nos with 205 completed and 190 pursuing Full and Part Time Ph.D scholars; publications of nearly 3000 (as on April, 2022) articles in International journals with 39897 citations and the institute h-index is 83 and i10 index is 882.
